Happy Valentine’s — Love needs space to breathe.

Falling in love is an explosion of rosy emotions. It comes without announcement. Our butterflies are out of control. Beautiful, creative, and sexy, we listen to Mozart and Vivaldi and read the old poets or become one ourselves. We are the running bomb of good feelings, ideas, and adventures.

Even better if the other one is challenging to get, and imagination and passion can develop before the first tangible steps. What wouldn`t we all do for him? For her? The beautiful, cruel longing of a blossoming heart….

And two, five years later? The rosy glasses turned a bit pale. The emotional peaks are still to find but more challenging to create. Now the unwrapped gift shows itself. Beautiful, yet, often different. More silent, deep, reliable….This is the moment and chance for love to arrive and stay.

Consciously, we conquer the new steps with ease. And open up to the person we can finally perceive. However, we might miss the hero, our prince, or queen. The one who did everything before we even thought. We long for the small gestures which enriched our lives. So what to do?

For sure, do not expect. The mind turns quite unattractive if we do. So instead, let’s remember the beginning, the outstanding moments and events. And then, celebrate, and by that, keep them alive.

However, more importantly, are our new special days. Of course, those milestones show themselves more subtly and elegantly, but they clearly can compete.

We shall take time, the time we longed for so much at the beginning, and we spend so often alone today.

Yes, we shall take time.

A day alone “a deux” with whatever is the glue. Quality time together.

And sometimes we must leave to meet again. The missing part, the longing, will recall the precious one. The unknown will sparkle the inspiration.

As Love needs space to breathe — our butterflies get space to dance.
