GONE!
I come from work, in my arms shopping bags, in my right hand flowers. In my left hand a bottle of vine and another bag. And now?
I have to put something onto the ground to get my hands free. I resist. Can’t I do it anyhow? No, impossible. I put the flowers down to be able to open the door. Easy.
When a boat is about to sink, we don’t think; we drop weight.
When our minds are busy, meander, and can’t let go of what happened, we are preoccupied and stressed. Our mind is overloaded as we hold on to the past; we are in the past. We can’t be open to what comes. And we are undoubtedly not in the moment.
The first thing is to notice our thoughts and feelings. And then consciously let go of the weight that fills our minds. Drop the story, say “Gone!” And let it all go.
And this is when the magic happens: Space arises. The chance to embrace the New — with free hands.
